Face it, sometimes the best thing about going out to a movie is the popcorn, those big plump kernels that always seem so much better than what you pop at home. But this simple stovetop popper changes all that. It really does make awesome, fresh-popped corn that might make you start renting videos instead. The sturdy aluminum pan has a clip-on lid with a stay-cool wooden handle. A turn crank on the handle spins the key element: the stainless steel stirring system that keeps the corn moving across the bottom of the pan, for even heat and oil distribution, ensuring the best popping results. I use this to make sugar corn . . . oil, popcorn, 1/4 c white sugar, a splash of cold water, then stir like mad until it all pops. It's white, sparkling, and just the right touch of something sweet!

My daughter has food allergies so we can't use microwave popcorn. The Whirley-pop lets you make great popcorn on your stovetop and let's you add whatever ingredients you want. Much better than air popped popcorn too.
Stovetop Popcorn Popper (2009-06-04)
LOVE this popper ! Its quick, easy, & makes pefect popcorn. You do have to wash the pan afterwards to get the oil out, but it washes very easily. I love not having the chemicals that are in microwave popcorn. This popper is GREAT.
Whirley-Pop is Best Way to Make Great Popcorn (2009-06-04)
I don't usually write reviews but this product is so great that I thought it was worth sharing my opinion. I have always loved popcorn and have sometimes enjoyed eating it at a movie more than the movie itself. At home I have tried microwave popcorn and hot air popcorn (like munching on styrofoam) but neither can compare in texture or flavor to the popcorn I get with the Whirley-Pop. My family agrees. They say it is the best popcorn I've ever made and better than what they get at the movies. The Whirley-Pop is very fast and easy to use.
I tried the theater kind that comes with some of the Whirley-Pop Poppers here on Amazon but it is not nearly as good the Orville Redenbacher Original Popcorn with Orville Redenbacher's Buttery Flavor Popcorn Oil.
Sure beats microwave popcorn (2009-06-02)
I eat a lot of popcorn. Filling but not fattening. Well made. Works great.
